Bus full of supplies from Project SAVE heads to El Salvador
From Project SAVE Director Janice Walker:
The bus was purchased at auction by Joe Hughes, of Ford Truck Pro's out of Seattle, Washington. Joe has a love for the people of El Salvador and has been working to help in many ways. Quite a bit of work was done on the bus in the Seattle area before he drove it to Chico to be filled with supplies. He, his son Joshua, and Geovanny Melara (originally from El Salvador) will be driving it to Kings Castle Orphanage and the Hogar Family Clinic in El Salvador.
Funding for the trip was made possible by Joe, and friends from his church with a vision toward help the people of El Salvador. Ken Karasinski of NorCal Vans has also put a lot of time into making sure the bus was ready for a long road trip and taking out & restacking seats to allow room for medical equipment and supplies.
Three dental chairs, a dental x-ray and many other supplies are on the bus and ready to go. The first three rows of seats have been converted into sleeping areas for the men & just today, Costco gave us 2 great camping pads which we passed along to them. It will be a long hard trip and they will be sleeping in the bus for 5 days! Our thoughts and prayers will be with these dedicated men as they make this long journey
