We had amazing workers who braved the constant rain to help get this one it's way! Ron and his son Jordan built an incredible ramp which was used to load the well drilling equipment, and the extra heavy portable x-ray machine. After loading the first 10x20' storage unit into the container, the ramp was dismantled, loaded onto the 40' container, then we continued to load the second very full 10x20' storage unit into the sea container. Jordan built the ramp so the people in Tanzania can reconstruct it in Kilolo and have it to off load in Africa. He cut the wood so that they can use it for tables and chairs after the unloading is completed. Amazing isn't it?
We loaded the entire container in the rain. It was the first time we have had a rainy loading day AND I never heard one complaint! We had amazing helpers from the Chico State Fraternity, Gamma Zeta Alpha, teens from Pleasant High & Globally Conscious Youth, a representative from SIFE, many missionary young men from the Church of the Latter Day Saints, plus our regular volunteers and friends. It was a great day and we thank each of you who helped
The Globally Conscious Youth from Poudre Valley High School were able to raise $5211.05 as of May 1st!! A private donor who offered to match the funds they raised, sent us a check for $5,300, which you will see us holding in the attached photos. We were all thrilled - the kids have more than met their goal!!! This will enable us to help Ron with the inland transportation as well. What a joy to work with these great kids and see them make a tremendous impact on the lives of others in Kilolo, Tanzania. To each of you who gave so generously, we thank you! May God richly bless you for your giving hearts! You helped these kids realize an huge goal, which seemed like an impossibility at one point. Thank you, Thank you!!!
A team of nurses and doctors from Chico will travel to Africa with Ron in September to help set up this hospital. Janice Walker
